TY - JOUR AU - Ozarkar, Anantkumar AB - The dynamic nature of design education makes it important for educational practices to be innovative and interesting. The National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 encouraged the use of animation and other skill development measures to improve design education. This study helps to understand the perspective of two sets of stakeholders: teachers and students in higher education. A quantitative study with 50 teachers and 254 students was conducted and analysed using principal component and correlation analyses. The primary results showed that students’ level of familiarity with NEP 2020 was low. However, familiarity with NEP 2020 was substantially higher among teachers. The design animation techniques through NEP were agreed to have high visual communication capabilities for the teachers. However, it is seen that it holds a low level of innovation. The students agreed on the attainment of a higher level of attention and retention through design education initiatives and using animation in design, generating a substantial number of perceived benefits.
