TY - JOUR AU - Burrows, David AB - Guest Editorial Because one of the aims of the society is to let those outside academia know of work which is of benefit to them and to further this aim, the Society appointed a Press Officer earlier this year. Mike Toglia has agreed to take on this role, which, it is hoped will result in papers given at the conferences being made more widely available to the public as well as providing a source of expertise in applied research in memory and cognition for the press and other interested parties. Perhaps the main advantage of the Society for its members is that it has created a truly international network of psychologists from a large number of different countries interested in applied memory and cognitive research, able to meet regularly at Society sponsored conferences. There are two more tangible benefits, however. All members, for the modest membership fee of $40 a year, receive a year's subscription to Applied Cognitive Psychology and a much reduced subscription to Cognitive Technology. There is also a twice yearly newsletter, which keeps members up to date with developments and lists books of interest to members. Applied memory and cognitive research has grown enormously since TI - Society for Applied Research in Memory and Cognition (SARMAC) JF - Applied Cognitive Psychology DO - 10.1002/(SICI)1099-0720(199702)11:1<1::AID-ACP449>3.0.CO;2-D DA - 1997-02-01 UR - https://www.deepdyve.com/lp/wiley/society-for-applied-research-in-memory-and-cognition-sarmac-2UyDKzigsk SP - 1 EP - 2 VL - 11 IS - 1 DP - DeepDyve ER -
