In one study (Taylor, 1973) involving 177 5s, expressive disposition correlated .40 with figural originality; inventive disposition correlated .46 with figural fluency and .42 with figural originality; and innovative disposition correlated .49 with verbal originality. In the same study the overall score and five sub-scores correlated significantly with Shostrom's POI scores for self-actualizing values and/or selfregard, with coefficients ranging from .4;2 to .51. The largest number of creative correlations seemed to cluster around the product generation sub-scale, that part of CBDS most comparable to other product-oriented creativity measures. The CBDS, however, provides a broader base for measuring creativity than other tests, since it is concerned with a variety of dispositions in relation to various areas of creativity. Observation of correlations between items within dispositions and areas indicates a generally high degree of internal consistency, and split-half reliability correlations of .82 to .96 indicate adequate reliability. In addition to its general validity, reliability, and adequacy, the CBDS is easily administered and scored. It is objective, economical, and acceptable to subjects.
