AB - AbstractThe onslaught of satellite television broadcasts by international media networks in the Asian skies has renewed the charges of cultural imperialism. This paper examines how a rethinking of cultural imperialism has contributed to new media strategies that are proactive and culturally empowering. Singapore, through its regionalization media strategies, is leading the charge in asserting an Asian-centred perspective in the global picture.
