Lidz Philadelphia, Pennsylvania Before I make specific comments on the Karpov and Tzuriel article, I cannot help but express my delight with having a conference dedicated to the dynamic assessment (DA) model. Thanks so much to Marilyn Samuels and her colleagues for providing this very ex- citing opportunity! To have so many people in one venue who are interested, involved, and dedicated to the advancement of DA was indeed a special and historic event. Despite the fact that the conference was technically a regional meeting within the larger domain of the International Association for Cognitive Education and Psychology (IACEP), it was attended by a number of participants, all significant contributors to the research and development of DA, who came from areas quite beyond the limits of North America. This helped to add depth and importance to the occasion. The Karpov and Tzuriel article is itself a comment on the conference, and this article will thus offer some comments on their comments.
