TY - JOUR AB - The Editor’s Page JSZ makes a good beginning - but only a beginning -on the task of integrating what we know about reactions to victimization of many kinds. This is one of two planned JSZ issues on victims. When it was being developed initially, two points became evident: (1) there was far too much good stuff for one JSI issue; and (2) there was a large subset of work on one subclassification-victims of various kinds of crimes. So two of the potential issue editors (Greenberg & Ruback) decided to develop a JSZ issue entirely of material on reactions to being a victim of crime. That issue will be one of the next three or four issues of JSI. Meanwhile, the other issue editors (Janoff-Bulman & Frieze) developed this issue on reactions to being a victim of any one of many kinds of victimizing events including, but not especially focussing on, victims of crimes. From an editor’s view, it would have been nice to present them back to back, as successive issues.
