AB - 424 [part IV, THE SOURCES AND NATURE OF STATISTICAL INFORMATION IN SPECIAL FIELDS OF STATISTICS STATISTICS RELATING TO THE USE OF LAND IN THE UNITED KiNGDOM THIS note on statistics on the use of land was prepared by the Central Statistical Office in consultation with the Departments concerned. It describes in detail the nature of the statistics on land use available in Government Departments, and the documents in which the information is to be found. The note was prepared in the first instance for official use, and it is included in the present series, at the suggestion of the Inter-Departmental Committee for Social and Economic Research, in the hope that it may be of wider interest. Much of the information described is published; some of the unpublished information can be supplied by Departments to research workers on request. No information can, however be disclosed which might be identified as relating to any particular individual. The following pages describe the information available at the time of writing (January, 1953), and the information may be affected from time to time by changes in legislation.
