AB -  The Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990 prohibits discrimination on the basis of disability in employment, government services, public accommodations, and telecommunications. The author offers a review of the ADA, including the definition of a disability under the ADA, and places particular emphasis on the employment provisions of the ADA. The paper offers situational analyses that will help human services employees increase their understanding of the workplace requirements for compliance with the ADA.
