PG: How would you tell the innovation problem to a CEO in America? CC: It is hard to see that there are complications in running a successful company. The first classic problem is that there is misplacement of the responsibility to innovate at the wrong level at the company. That is a softer problem that nobody has really cracked yet: that is if you are the manager of an operating business, your job is to deliver numbers. You might think that your job is to deliver products or services, but really you are delivering numbers to the corporation.
