TY - JOUR AU - Conner, Mark T. AB - Argues that the determinants of food choice are many and varied butall mediated by the individuals thought processes perceptual affectiveand behaviourdeciding. Models of these attitudinal variables such asthe theory of planned behaviour have been increasingly successful inpredicting food choices from peoples answers to questions about theirreasons for choosing. However, not all food choices can be given anexhaustive rationale and so models which recognize this, such as theelaboration likelihood model of persuasion and causal analysis ofindividual choice, are likely to carry forward our understanding of thethought processes underlying food choices.
