AB - Reactions 1704, p35 - 2 Jun 2018 Depressed level of consciousness and renal disorders: 4 case reports In a prospective, multi-centre, observational study (EURO- B.O.S.S.) of 218 patients, four patients (including a female patient) [ages not stated; not all sexes stated] were described. One patient developed grade 4 depressed level of consciousness following treatment with ifosfamide, and another patient developed grade 4 renal toxicity while receiving doxorubicin, cisplatin and ifosfamide. The two remaining patients developed delayed methotrexate excretion associated with grade 3 nephrotoxicity or grade 1 creatinine elevation following the administration of methotrexate 8 g/m infusion [durations of treatments to reaction onsets not stated; not all routes, dosages and outcomes stated]. All patients were receiving the chemotherapies for primary high grade bone sarcoma. The female patient, who developed grade 4 renal toxicity, underwent dialysis and her renal function had normalised. Author comment: "The EURO-B.O.S.S. treatment concept led to results that seem comparable to those also achieved in younger patients with primary high-grade osteosarcoma, albeit at the cost of relevant side effects."
