Thus the reader has enough information to decide whether the methodology might be promising for a particular question of interest, and in most cases, an extensive bibliography to pursue in order to gain further understanding that could result in the actual design of a project. Overall the presentation is abstract and in some instances rather technical (for example, the chapter on multidimensional scaling). The book would not appeal to a novice in research, but certainly an individual with some background and experience in research would find the presentation intelligible. Nursing as a clinical discipline is interested in more than the uncovering of relationships among phenomena. The profession is agent; that is, professionals are interested in being able to alter relationships among phenomena to produce alternative outcomes to clients' predicted or current health status.
