TY - JOUR AU - Howell, Kenneth W. AB - As interest in task analytical procedures increases, the need to define the nature of tasks becomes evident. This article identifies and describes the various dimensions of tasks. The paper cautions against an exclusive focus on content when engaging in task analysis. Additionally, the paper draws a distinction between the subtasks of learning to do a task and actually doing a task. The relationship of task analysis to evaluation and instruction is presented.
