TY - JOUR AU - HIGGINS, J AB - 20 male, Caucasian undergraduates were administered the California F scale of authoritarianism and subsequently asked for their preference between the two major candidates in the 1964 United States presidential election. Splitting the sample at the median F-scale score, it was found that the higher scorers preferred Goldwater over Johnson, while the lower scorers preferred Johnson over Goldwater.
