Presents a model ofthis diffusion process which has been developed on the basis of anextensive research programme looking at the diffusion of production andinventory control systems within the components sector of Britishindustry. This model suggests attention needs to be paid to threefactors  the technological innovation itself, thevendorssuppliers of the innovation, and the user organization.Highlights the practical utility of this approach.
