AB - A non-invasive wrist sensor, BPGuardian (Empirical Technologies C., Charlottesville, VA) has been developed that provides continuous pressure readings by de-convolving the radial arterial pulse waveform into its constituent component pulses (Pulse Decomposition Analysis). Results agree with the predictions of the model regarding the temporal and amplitudinal behavior of the component pulses as a function of changing diastolic and systolic blood pressure.
