Contributors to this Issue Elizabeth Cherry is an assistant professor of Sociology at Manhattanville College. Her research focuses on social movements, culture, environmental sociology, animals and society, and sociology of food. Marci D. Cottingham is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Social Medicine at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research examines the role of discourse and self/emotion processes in the maintenance of social inequalities in health and health care. Jeffrey Dowd is a Visiting Assistant Professor at Goucher College in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology. His current research focuses on on‐line racial discourse, racial inequality, and political sociology. Benjamin R. Gibbs is assistant professor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at Ball State University. His research interests focus primarily on community‐based corrections, including drug courts and parole performance. Mustafa E. Gurbuz is a policy fellow at the Center for Global Policy at George Mason University. His forthcoming book, Transforming Ethnic Conflict: Rival Kurdish Movements in Turkey , explores how social movement activists construct a competition culture after a long period of political violence. Dr. Gurbuz is associate editor of Sociology of Islam . Lorine A.
