Der Wasserstoff‐Autotransfer ist eine neue Art von Dominoreaktion. Die Sequenz umfasst eine einleitende oxidative Wasserstoffeliminierung, eine nachfolgende C‐C‐Kupplung verschiedenen Typs und zum Abschluss eine reduktive Wasserstoffanlagerung zur Bildung des Endprodukts. Mithilfe des Wasserstoff‐Autotransfers gelingt die Alkylierung nukleophiler Substrate mit Alkoholen als Elektrophilen unter milden Reaktionsbedingungen (schwache Basen, niedrige Temperaturen) und mit Wasser als dem einzigen Beiprodukt. Durch die Einführung verschiedener metallorganischer Katalysatoren konnte der Substratbereich deutlich erweitert werden. Dieser Kurzaufsatz fasst die neusten Fortschritte zusammen.
