Bibliography on the Uruguay Round is due in no small part to this ability to analyze important and relevant problems in a clear and lucid way. Professor Corden has had an enormous influence on the development of thought on trade policy over the post-World War I1 period. Indeed, he has been one of the major figures in the field. He has always been concerned with issues which have obvious relevance and has made seminal contributions in a number of important areas. This book is an excellent testimonial to the enduring quality and lasting value of that work. Since he has now moved on to new pastures, perhaps we may look forward to a second volume in due course?
