Damit liegt eine allgemein anwendbare Lösung für eine seit langem bestehende Einschränkung dieser äußerst effizienten Methode vor: die mangelhafte Reaktivität der preiswerten und leicht erhältlichen Arylchloride. dba = Dibenzylidenaceton.
