The Environmental Assessment Technique: A way to measure college environments

The Environmental Assessment Technique: A way to measure college environments A method for measuring the college environment, the Environmental Assessment Technique (EAT), was described. Measures of 8 characteristics of the student body––its size, average intelligence, and 6 "personal orientations"––were validated against the College Characteristics Index at 36 colleges. The 6 personal orientations, which were obtained from a census of students' major fields at each institution, were also shown to be highly stable over time. Some of the advantages, limitations, and possible applications of the EAT were discussed. http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Journal of Educational Psychology American Psychological Association

Abstract

A method for measuring the college environment, the Environmental Assessment Technique (EAT), was described.
