BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE Lipopolysaccharide (LPS)‐induced expression of cyclooxygenase‐2 (COX‐2) and cytosolic phospholipase A2 (cPLA2) has been implicated in several respiratory diseases. HuR is known to enhance the expression of genes by binding to 3′‐untranslated region (3′‐UTR) of mRNA and stabilizing mRNA.
