It went through hurdle after hurdle, and the harsh reality the parent went through, no one could imagine. But this baby had one single objective: to foster entrepreneurship and small business development. With this single objec tive, over 300 papers were published involving more than one hundred researchers and teachers. It helped many university colleagues to enhance their academic careers, as well as added immeasurable value to society, to entrepreneurship discipline in particular. JSBE was born in the Summer of 1983, and this summer it celebrated its fourteenth birthday. To the parent, it has not been an easy task and although it brought the child to its teens, the parent cannot claim all the credit. There were God-fathers: the then International Council for Small Business-Canada; its contributing advertisers: the Bank of Montreal, the Royal Bank of Canada, that helped with the French language translation as well; and as I recall during the early years of JSBE, http://www.deepdyve.com/assets/images/DeepDyve-Logo-lg.png Journal of Small Business & Entrepreneurship Taylor & Francis
