The series is primarily aimed at trainee psychotherapists and psychodynamic counsellors in order to ‘bring together some of the major theorists and their ideas in a comprehensive way, including references to significant and interesting texts’ (p. xi) but its particular value lies in the integration of psychoanalytic and Jungian analytic thinking which is sadly still something of a rarity outside the publications from SAP members. ‘Dreams’ is a huge topic, both from the psychoanalytic and the Jungian viewpoint.
